Alive Or Dead?

This australian brain coral has not bloated up in over a month now. It lost some flesh (not all) and the mouth just kind of stays open.

Hoping somebody might know.

As for the cause of its condition its my fault. I kicked up a sandstorm and it went downhill after that.

Any chance of it coming back to life?

It doesn't look good, that's for sure. As long as there's still tissue, though, it might recover. I doubt the sandstorm did it in, unless you disturbed a long-established deep sand bed. I'd be more inclined to suspect water quality problems, or maybe insufficient light.

every once in a while i will get a branch of hammer that looks like that, i would say that they die about 80% of the time,sorry

did you feed it? mysis in the center of the disc with flow shut down. Lighting? poor water, too much flow? You need to give us all the info you can to get a informed answer. I don't guess like some of the newbies.
