Some saltwater splashed into one of my extension cords and caused all the power in my room and the two rooms around me to turn off. The power cord itself was a gfci power cord, but im not sure about the outlet. What do i do to get the power back on in the rooms.

Trying to fix this before my sister comes home and notices she cant turn the power on :eek1:

I'd call in a professional and play it safe. Seriously.

check your main box. The breaker would have shut off.....

I agree with burntoutreefer I'm thinkin you tripped the breaker. You just need to unplug whatever it is from the gfci outlet and reset it, than go to the breaker box, wherever it might be In the house or garage, and flip the breaker back on.
You should by a waterproof cover for that outlet if it's in a place where you think it might splash again.

Agreed! Unplug whatever was plugged in to that outlet and find the breaker box and makes sure all the switches are on if there are any that are halfway on or off turn them off and then back on. Good luck!!!

It says he's a student. I wish I could have afforded a saltwater tank while in college. :P

lol jaybyron... A couple years ago when I was in college, my dad would send gas money so I could spend the little I made working on my saltwater habit! Be careful and dont get shocked if water gets in the extension cord again, if that happens, just make sure you flip that breaker off, if it does not turn off before you touch any cords. Spoken from experience!
