I bought a small colony of acro from one of my LFS. When I got home and looked in the bag. I can see 3 small dark brown nudibranchs. They look just like the white ones that eat corals, but they are dark brown. Here are some pics. Now they were not on the coral, but underneath the good size live rock which the piece was glued on. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks:thumbsup:

IMO, Those are not Montipora Eating Nudibranchs.

Not monti nudis-nudibranchs are fascinating creatures IMHO.

There's tons and tons of species that are sometimes specific to different areas. They don't look like scuts.

IMO those are zoo eating nudibranchs freshwater dips should take care of them.HTH

They look a little darker than most of the photos I've seen but the shape is dead on. Gasman is probably correct on the zoa eating ID. Other info online states as with the monty eating type to look for the eggs. I'd go over that rock or remove anything good off of it and just nuke the rock with freshwater.

Those look exactly like the zoa eating nudis I pulled out of my tank.

Trying putting a zoa polyp in with them and an aptasia (if you have either) and see which they eat.

I just called my LFS, and emailed him a few pics. He told me he found a few of those on his Zoas. So I guess this does confirm it. Thanks!

If you have zoas, they will turn the color of the ones they are eating to camoflage themselves too!!! I thik these will also eat leathers.
