I just purchased a used 6x54w Tek and I was wondering what is the correct wiring for the 2 switches. The previous owner changed the endcaps and I'm not sure he reconnected them well.
Being 1 the last bulb (the one near to the back, where the 2 switches are) and 6 the front one, my order is

Switch A fires up 1 and 2
Switch B fires up 3-4-5-6

Also I have read in the forum that the right distance from water should be 4 to 6 inches. My tank is 18'' in height and I put them at 6 inches. Does this make sense?

It is my first T5 (only MH before) so I'm torn.
Thanks!

Switch A lights up 1 and 6
Switch B lights up 2-3-4-5

I am not sure if I have answered your question right.

As for the distance from the water IMO 6" is good since they have no fan on the fixture. But over all Tek makes one of the best T5 system out on the market.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the answer appleepiee. So there is something I have to check in the wiring.
I agree, the fixture look very well made. I'm probably gonna make or buy the splash screen. The previous owner didn't take care at all and it is all rusted :-(
