Fantastic link Fmarini and the original post as well. So does anyone know how they are going about improving the aquaculture of copepods and other food for the young fry? Such an amazing and fast transfermation from larva to adult. Gotta love it! T

Wow what a break through. I wonder what species we will breed next?

The direction of what fish to breed is pretty much down to the available technology, funding and time in order to research w/e is good to raise larvae.

If the commonly believed school of thought that suggests tank-raised fish are tougher than their wild counterparts.. then hopefully we'll see some of the more fragile species available.

Imagine if tank raised moorish idols were for sale... or regal angels.

But im' not exactly sure of overharvesting.. but are there certain ornamental fish that are threateneded ? cardinals ?

I think in general reefs are threatened by collecting practices, especially in countries with little to no regulation as to how the fish can be caught.
