I prefer the tanks that are recessed and NOT flush.....it also reduces the chances of incidental scratches......

Do most of you guys put the viewing wall flush with tank or do you have the tank flush with the back wall?
Whoever makes it flush with the viewing wall can you show any pictures of how you tied the stand to the wall and how you put the plywood on the top.

its also easier to have it recessed. You can frame out the wall and then install the stand behind it. Check out my build on my home page.

My basement inwall, the tank is about 1" recessed. I had vertical trim pieces on the left and right side but they looked funny so I didnt install them.
