i just ordered an aqua controller jr from neptune systems. it came today, and when i opened the box i was very surprised. instead of the jr i had the aqua controller apex base unit. i paid for the jr. would you guys call them and let them know or just let someone have a bad day. i really do not want to give it back now, which i doubt they would do. still though i kind of do not want to risk it, but inside i feel like i should let them know.

I would call. Honesty is the best approach IMO.

Call them... you may never know, they may reward you for your honesty and just tell you to keep it!

or

They could say after they get your Visa card ### for the extra charge you could keep it!

ouch, although it would be difficult and painful to return, it would be he right thing to do. If your fine living with the guilt then...hey lol

I would call them.

We accidentally received an extra set of $900 aviation headsets. We ended up calling them and sending them back. It was really hard to do, but it was the right thing to do.

Yea, for sure call them. I am 99% sure (well not really, but you get it) that they will tell you to keep it. It never feels wrong doing the right thing...I know you will call. The fact you came on here to ask other peoples opinions should let you know that something was not right about the situation.

i can tell you one thing i have it running now and it most certainly is not going back. i will pay the difference if need be. i tried to call them a bunch of times, but it was busy, yippee! i will call again tomorrow and hopefully they just let me have it. i mean keep it.

I agree, call. I placed a large group buy order for my local reef club a few months ago for cleanup crew items and fish. Hundreds of dollars worth of stuff. The order arrived fine and was distributed. The next day, the same order showed up again. I called and was told to keep it for my honesty. Gave it all away to other club members.

He would have had that much in shipping to swap them out on the company dime. Now you feel good, he recouped some costs, and he has made a happy customer. Everybody wins.

You did the right thing. In the end, you would have been ridden with guilt over doing something that would have gained you a measly 50$.

But in any event, it would be easy to have good morals if things were always convenient for us and worked to our advantage.

It is always best to do the right thing. What goes around comes around.

Glad to see honesty and people of character are still around these days.

Maybe Reef Central members should run for Congress.

yeah i felt bad once he told me he was gonna go yell at some people. i must say though this is the coolest thing i have ever purchased. i am so glad that someone screwed up(i do feel bad for him) but WOW, why didnt someone tell me these things were so awesome. i really am amazed at everything i can do with this thing. anyone who is looking at controllers i must say that the options of the apex are limitless and the price i paid for it makes it even better. it is worth so much more than what they even charge full price. this is one kick *** product!

Karma for Neptune systems as well. This thread made the decision for me.

I have met Curt at Neptune Systems in person and I doubt very seriously he yelled at anybody (doesn't seem the type). I have no doubt he was very upset and may even have to let that person go.........depending on if this is the first offense or not. Curt is very straight forward and interested in taking care of his customers.

IMO the AquaController is the best in the industry............and it is nice to know you can get behind the company producing it!
