powering off a 6100

I thought I remember someone saying that I should not be turning my Tunze 6100 Stream off, but rather use the feed button on the controller. Is there any problem with pulling the plug on the pump once or twice a week, if I am doing maintenance on the tank and do not want the pump on for an extended period, say 30-60 minutes. If not I plan on putting the pump on an X-10 controller, so it easier to shut off when needed.

You can shut them off overnight with a timer or by unplugging them. The only thing you don't want to do is rapidly cycle them on and off harshly the way wavemakers do.
