Hi all,

Can someone recommend me a 3-4 stage RO/DI unit that I can hook up to a backyard faucet/hose line?

THANKS!!

I can recommend an excellent 5 stage. The Bulk Reef Supply 5-stage+ is an awesome unit. 0 tds and super easy to set-up. Enough said.

+1 BRS 5 stage.

Most of what the other guys mentioned are also popular. Checkout Air Water Ice also.

Email your requirements to the Filter Guys -- they'll set you up with exactly what you need, at a good price, and ship it fast and stand behind it.

Let me know how it goes with the backyard set up. I'm thinking of doing the same thing but the filterguys have told me it would develop too much algae. The area I have in mind would be on the shady side of the house.

That's good to hear, considering the faucet for the hose is under an overhang that's pretty much always shady. Sounds like I might need to come up with a contraption. :hammer:

Does anyone know where I can get a 20+ gallon water container? I prefer something that is barrel shaped and opaque.

Can someone direct me on how I can install my RO/DI unit to a hose line? I'm looking at the parts I received and I don't see an adapter. Is that something I can easily find at a home depot?

Ummm, they didn't give you a garden/laundry hose quick fitting? BRS gives one of these with their systems.

Seems like I need the GARDEN HOSE / LAUNDRY SINK ADAPTER 3/4" TO 3/8" QUICK FITTING or the GARDEN HOSE / LAUNDRY SINK ADAPTER TO ¼" QUICK FITTING to hook this up to a hose line.

Anyone know which one I'm suppose to get for the OCEAN WAVE FIVE STAGE from thefilterguys?

Looking at the pic of the Ocean Wave 5 stage I would think you'd need the 1/4". I'm not sure if HD/Lowes have that type of fitting.

Yep, I measured the tubing for the RO/DI unit, it's 1/4inches.

On another note, which of the fittings (http://www.thefilterguys.biz/fittings.htm) would I need to plumb my brute?

Got a brute instead if driving to SJ? Hehe :) you dont really need to plumb the brute. What exactly did you want to do? You can just get the hose and put it in the brute and put the lid on. I guess you can buy yourself an ATO when the water gets high enough to shut down the RO.

yes, i am quite lazy. i found some local places that sold the water barrels but they were only open on weekdays, same as my work schedule. I want to put in the quick fitting shut-off on the bottom of my brute so I can easily get water out of it without having to siphon the water out.

I also ended up at this site and purchased the EXTREME TYPHOON III.

Have yet to use it but from the posts I have read it should pay for itself in the long run in convenience and $$$.
