I posted this in the SPS forum and only received one useful response. Thanks Mark. Those of you with cool water angels (72/73 degrees) and SPS please comment on your experiences..

"I keep my water between 72 and 73 degrees because of my fish collection and was wondering if that should have any adverse effects on acros? Seems to me that my growth has slowed down while color and PE remains good..

Hi Tony

I keep my reef tank at 73 - 74.5 oF (interruptus angel) and have not seen any adverse effects on my corals, with one possible exception. A superman monti turned from deep purple to light lavender at about the same time that I dropped my tank temp, over about 2 months, from 75 - 77 oF to its current value. I have good color and growth otherwise. I can't really tell if growth is that much slower; for example, my purple monster appears to grow faster at the lower temp, but that could be due to the fact that as the colony has gotten larger, there is more surface area for growth. I have lots of pics of my corals if you are interested; you saw some in my MACNA talk last week.
