i have a GBTA that has just split. both halves are still nestled
in a rock cleft. i'd like to nudge one out and put it somewhere specific.
any hints on how to do that, without hurting the animal?

you could try putting a bowl or coffee cup over it to rob it of light and flow for a day and see if it releases.

You can also point a powerhead directly at it, and it will move itself, however theres no guarantee when you place it where you want that it will stay there

The only drawback to this is that both the mother colony and the split may be inclined to uproot.

You can try the ice in the plastic bag trick.
