DAMN Bubbles.

how do i get the bubbles to stop going into the return from my protein skimmer. i have a sump sock over the protein skimmer out, and a foam bad in front of the return and i still get them a little. whats the answer?:fun4:

Hi, it sounds like you need a bubble trap. The trap I have in my diy sump is three different pieces of glass right next to my protein skimmer. the 1st is from side to side and bottom to 1 inch below the water. the 2nd piece is above the water to one inch above the bottom side to side. the 3rd is the same as the 1st. thats what stops mine. The glass has 1 inch of space between them. good luck

Can you rearrange the sump to make your return pump further away

do you not have baffles? If you do you may just have to much flow.

Then I would call the manufacturer of the skimmer and see if they can help. as far as you sponge in there be care full they collect a lot of crap and if un checked can cause problems. Good Luck
