AC3 Battery Backup

I see there is a battery backup plug on the AC3, but I've never seen anywhere to buy or the plans to build a battery backup for the device.

Am I missing something obvious?

Where can I get a battery backup for my AC3?

Many people have built their own with a 9v battery but there isn't one from Neptune. The expectation is that you would have a second AV adapter, plugged into a UPS.

I put 6 regular "D" cells in a couple of holders I bought at Radio Shack. I wired them in series to make 9V and soldered a connector on. It works fine and will run the AC3 for hours. I will change the batteries every year or two. All that you need is enough power to send out the power failure message. After that, all you can do is watch your sump go cold on the internet.
