I have a Reeflo ORCA 200 that I have had in operation for about 8 mos. It seems that I continually get little to no skimmate. I have tested the water going thru the skimmer (from feed pump) and it is 400 GPH. I have the water level in the skimmer (obviously checked with Recirc pump off) halfway between the black collar and the black bottom of the collection cup. From what I have read this is as high as you would want to go without overflowing the skimmer. I would say that maybe the low output is just a result of a relatively low bio load and running ozone. However, I dose 70mg/hr of ozone and I never get orp levels higher than 350 (I am confident this is an accurate reading as both my ORP controller and AC3 are reading within 10mv on eachother). I have a attached a video on the skimmer in action, maybe from this someone can give me an idea of what is wrong. I do see what I would consider alot of turbelence in the body to collection cup transition, is this normal? Thanks

My Reeflo 200 skimmer has been set up since 5/10/09. It just started to produce skimmate a few weeks ago. I notice that when I clean the cup(the cup still gets dirty) or change the filter sock, it stop skimming. Then it may take a few days to a week before it start again. But then I need to clean the cup or change the filter sock and we start all over again. I have follow the instruction as per the post "Reeflo Orca 200 Skimmer Club" that was on this website. Some state my bio load is too low for this skimmer since I have no fish, only SPS corals and clams in a 125 gal display. All is doing well, so I am not sweating it.

It has never been measure. But, prior to the Reeflo, I was using the ETSS 700 drowndraft skimmer. It always produce skimmate. Thanks!

The video looks like its running fine. The low bioload could be the issue or a host of other little things, but if you have that foam head, it is working...
