Anyone here slow drip vodka? I read that its better for the bacteria in the tank to absorb the carbon source that's being dosed. Whats your opinion on this? Also whats a good equipment method for a slow drip with vodka?
Thanks

I'm not sure where you heard that but I suspect it is not true.
First off, vodka dosing must be controlled, otherwise you risk crashing your tank.
I can not imagine what would happen to a reef tank if a vodka dosing system malfunctioned and accidentally dumped a large amount of vodka into the tank while you were at work.
I think you know what would happen.
Way too risky IMO.

I dose vodka about an ounce at a time, sometimes with cranberry juice.

I think this is what you are asking about.

If you use an Aquadoser you can achieve the same results. If your concern is trying to drip a couple of Ml over the course of the day, you can mix it with some RO water and drip it like that.

it will be super hard to find a doser that drips slow enough that you can use. i would get a medical grade pump. they can do 1ml per hour. if you decide to dilute the happy juice with some RO water then bacteria might just grow in your RO water and eat the vodka there. not much vodka will go into the tank. i think its a bad idea. just manual dose if you really want to use vodka.
