removing phosphate?

i ran out of phosband and i have some kent phosphate spong.is this stof(kent marine phosphate sponge) any good and is it safe to use in a reeftank?

It is reef safe but many soft corals have an adverse reaction to it. I had it happen in my tank when I tried it. Nothing died, but all my soft corals retracted their polyps for a few days. It's not a bad product and it does work, but it has a very short lifespan compared to GFO.

Be sure to soak it in a bowl of ro or saltwater water first. It releases a lot of heat when it first comes in contact with water.
