I have an opportunity to buy one with a Oceanic tank setup from a lady getting out of the hobby for $150 (for the tank, stand and filter).

Just curious on thoughts if they were worth installing or not.

You could use it for something like polishing the water, running carbon or maybe something QT related. I have a Fluval FX5 that I rarely use to polish the water and run Carbon. Other then that it sets in the garage collecting dust.

I have a magnum 350 that got used by someone for the first time in 5 years :D It is good for carbon or as an occasional polish but I would not bother running it constantly.

I still have a 220 that I started up in '92. Still use it to polish the water and run carbon. It's noisy, don't know about the 350. I have a basement sump so I use a, just as old, Fluval 303 for carbon and media. If I had to put it under my tank, in a cabinet, I'd probably think twice.
