I know I have read this somewhere else before but I'm taking the lazy route this time.

First let me give you some history and paraments:
I stated off vodka dosing while I was using the products from probido. I sometimes notice that I would start to get a brown unwanted algae. So i would just throw in some more bio digest. Now that I have switched over to mb7 I add about 4 -6 drops per day and this brown algae is everywhere and growing fast. Seems like I am scrubing more of the glass every day that goes by. Question is should i up my mb7 dosage or lower it? Or up my vodka dosage or lower that?

calc - 450
mg - 1350
alk - 8
ph - 7.9
po4 - .05
nitrate - 0

Not to hijack, but does it look like this? A brown fuzz? If so, I have the same problem.

I have that stuff as well all over my rock. The brown other stuff is like diatoms. But I use 0 tds RO water.

Mines not really like diatoms. Mikes like a brown fuzz.
Im going to stop the vodka, re-seed with MB7 and then start the vodka again in 2 weeks.

There are many algae that could fit your description belonging to the Phaeophyta (aka Brown Agae).

This is one algae that fits your description, but the picture you provide, does not provide much detail:

Feldmannia sp:

Another might be Hincksia sp:

Maybe that is what I will try. Stop vodka dosing and go back to mb7. Now when I restart vodka do I have to start from square 1? Or can I go back to my 4ml dosages?

Start at day 1. Gotta build back up.

I agree with building up the vodka dosage slowly.
