I'm not a huge fan of dosing, mostly because I don't have the time to pay close enough attention to do it right, and thus generally end up doing more harm than good. I've always relied on water changes to not only remove the bad stuff, but also replace the good stuff.

I have a pretty basic setup (30long mixed reef). I do water changes every 10-14 days or so, usually about 25%. Do those water changes replace minerals and trace elements used by corals?

I agree with egg. Your present water change schedule will keep your trace elements adequate in most cases. :)

Since you do not dose, may I ask what brand salt mix you use ?

Currently working my way through a bucket of Instant Ocean.

You should be ok with regular water changes using that salt mix. If anything, I would check your calcium level every now and then. :)
