If you have a picture of your fowl tank or someone else tank that you like, post them up. I need some inspiration!:D

here's a 60 gal:

this is the 48" 100 gal upgrade, currently 'scaped for cycling (no macro, some LR to be added):

Nice tank Greg, I like the look of the macro. Why are you not going to put it in the new tank?

actually, i AM going to add macro to the tank, but what i meant is since it's still cycling, i'd rather have the ammonia used by the bacteria rather than the macro.

i'm a HUGE fan of live macro. it really boosts water quality, looks nice, and for the fish that it makes a difference to, provides a haven for live pods.

as for the additional LR i plan to add, i have some very purple pieces in another tank that is currently being "de-appie-fied" by a pair of bristletail filefish. i want to keep the new tank purple so the R. frondosa keeps its color.

Chalice,

what size tank are you planning? i may have some FTS of smaller setups somewhere as well.

Its going to be oceanic 120g 48x24x24. Trying to see whats out there, I like your macro gives the tank some color. I'm thinking about doing a foam wall just to give it some depth.

very cool...you'll love the 24" space for aquascaping.

namxus, I feel the same way about the maco. My wife for some reason hates the idea of macro in the display. I have to show her the picture of your tank so she can see how good it looks.

Chalice I have a 120 that I will try and post a picture of. I used very large red lava rock for the aquascape and think it looks nice.

Hey nam, what species of macro is that tall stuff & do you have any idea where I can get some? Also what type of lighting do you have on that tank?

Steve, that would be *whispers* Caulerpa taxifolia, commonly known as "fern Caulerpa". it is indeed illegal in CA, due to it being a noxious species. that being said, we go to great lengths to properly dispose of any prunings or small bits we don't use (freeze for at least 24 hrs prior to tossing them).

it is a fast grower, and as such, is great for nutrient export. it's also very EZ to grow, and attaches easily.

mine sprouted from some LR i got a few years ago, but i know John Maloney over at http://www.reefcleaners.org/ has it.

Thanks Greg, I have a 38 FOWLR, I'm running 2x24W T5's, think that will be enough to grow that? If you ever want to get rid of any let me know.....

Not saying it because I started the thread, but this is one of the best FO pics thread there has been in recent years:

that lighting would be fine. i kinda think the stuff would grow in a shoebox in a dark closet...LOL

the stuff in the pictured tank is under 110W of 10k and 110W of 03 actinic PC's.
