Can calcium chloride and mag. chloride/sulfate, be mixed together in a 15 gallon container of r/o water prior to adding the salt mix in, for water change?
I am aware not to add sodium bicarbonate at the same time.

Thanks

Kevin

You cannot mix too much magnesium sulfate and calcium chloride or else you'll precipitate calcium sulfate. That's why my DIY two part is really three parts. If it is just a small amount for mixing up salt water, then that is OK becuase the calcium sulfate will redissolve even if it does precipitate.

You can mix calcium and magnesium chlorides. You may get a little precipitate of calcium sulfate from trace sulfate in the magnesium chloride.
