I has some issues with low Alk in my tank. Due to this, some of the corals had some tissue recession on their tips. Now there is some brown algae on these tips, covering up the white. Is it best to leave them alone or clip off the brown part? Same goes for a frag that lost a battle - algae covering battle scar, but rest it doing good. Thanks for the help.

I would cut them off. IME they grow back faster that way.

Thanks for the help. That is what I was thinking. The rest of the tips on the piece have gotten bluer than I've seen before, so it seems that the coral is doing good now. Definitely a lesson to keep alkalinity in line and not let it drop that low. It was down to 7 on the test kit I was using at the time, which I didn't think was too bad, but I like to keep it at 9. Plus the Elos kit I am using now seems to be more accurate, so maybe it was a bit lower than 7 before. Anyway, corals seem to be doing better anyway.
