tanks about 2 weeks old now, and i have started to notice a little clump of clear algae on a rock upfront (doesn't show up in pictures). it's like little clear/opaque tubes/sticks sticking out of my rock. there is probable 20-25 of them in a 1/2" diameter circle on the rock. anyone have any ideas what it could be?

i researched aptasia, and all of the pictures i have seen look nothing like this?

any ideas

Need a photo. There's so much marine life that looks like what you are describing that it is impossible to tell without seeing it...?

Never seen clear algae before (unless it was on its deathbed). Would be interested in a pic as well to see what you are describing.

Vermatid snails or a worm of some kind is my guess.

Anyone have a clue as to what this might be?

More than likely some sort of tunicate or sea squirt possible a sponge..pretty sure it is nothing to worry about..

Nothing I would worry about ... probably hitchiked on the rock and either way if its a turnicate or sponge, theyre filter feeders, and are fine to have.

It's a sponge-- a natural, living water filter. Nothing to be alarmed about.
