i have a 55 gal set up and want to start a lion fish tank since my puffer died. it has about 30 lbs of live rock and 60 lbs of sand with a hang on canister filter and the lights are 4 t-5s 216 watts. i know i want a lion just not sure what kind yet and i want a moray possibly a snowflake and may be another fish. the tank is cycled and has been running for 6 months now and i have had corals in it. what kind of lion would do well in this system and get along with a moray and maybe a few corals zoos and some softies??:fish1:

a 55 gal might be fine for a dwarf lion or a juvenile midbodied lion, like a P Antennata or P Mombassae, but really only 1 lionfish. Your tank is too small for P Volitans or Russells

Hope this moray your talking about will be a smaller species as well, your biggest issue will be control of water quality. A 5 gal tank is fairly small for having hearty meat eaters and the major food you'll need.
I recommend you read this article on keeping lionfish

Not much to add to the expert opinion above, other than to make sure you have a cave structure for the lion to hide in if/when it feels the need to get out of those lights.

For an eel you might want to look at something like Gymnothorax miliaris. They can get pricey if it is a bright yellow specimen, but they rarely get over 15" in length.
