:hmm6:
I bought a tank a few months ago from craigslist. It had crushed coral substrate on the bottom. It looks like it about a inch to a inch in a half .I was want to create a thicker bottom buying some allready cylced sand from petco. Also ordering some garf grunge.
My question is how exactly do i go about do this?
I have crabs and snails.I have 2 clowns 3 chromis and 1 lawn mower blenny.I don't want to disturb my cycle and harm my fish.Im not sure how many pounds of live rock i have but theres alot of that also.
I have been reading the thicker base i have better for my fish reducing nitrates etc.
Any ideas or thoughts on this??
Id love to hear from all of you pros here on reef central !! :D
Thank you

I would pull a few cups of crushed coral out every few days until the existing substrate is gone. Then you can replace it slowly in a similar fashion.
