Need some advice for what kind of lighting to use on this tank.

I'm going to use some minor Actinic supplements, but the main lighting will be MH.

My original plan was to go with (3) 250W and probably use the Lumenarc 3. But, now I've been wondering if I should consider 400W instead?

Also, I'm trying to decide between 12K Reeflux (probably my #1 choice if I go 250W), or Radium 20K.

What's the best ballast to pair with these two bulbs. Any comments on the reflectors are also appreciated.

Thanks!

i think 250's would do the trick. i'm not a huge fan of reeflux 12ks for their color. i would go with a bluer bulb. i would probably do three 250s at 20K and not even worry about it.

just depends on what you want to keep near the bottom and just how far off the water the lights would be.

I would say 250 w is more than sufice, I have a 72" Aqua Medic with 4-250w halides and 4 39w actinics. That im thinking of selling becuse of my tank dept with out sand is 30"

My tank is very similar (72x36x24).
It's currently lit with 2x250 14K Icecap bulbs in Lumenarc 3 fixtures using Icecap ballasts.
I'm very happy with the appearance.
Also imagine it depends on what you want to grow, I'm not attempting SPS at this time.
