Hi Everyone,

Iam going to upgrade my lights i currently have the coral life 150 watt metal halide and my sps are not coloring up like i want them. This lighting is on a 120 gallon system. What should i upgrade to 250 watt phoenix or the 400 watt 20k radium bulbs?

250 should be plenty. 400 is going to heat the water up a lot.

What size tank do you have and what bulbs are you running?

The Coralife Aqualight Pro or Coralife bulbs?

I had the 150 version and the 250 version of the Aqualight Pro, I now have Reef Optix pendants housing 250W SE's with 20K radiums. the performance and coloration are literally "night and day".

Its a 120. I believe 250 would be plenty as well. 150 is a little low so you should be happy with the upgrade. If your buying new try to get electronic ballasts because research shows they are more efficient.

I had 2 250 pheonix and 4 t-5's on my old 90 gallon. I now have thoise same lights on a custom 155 gallon tank and its almost perfect lighting on my new tank.
