I've just read info that the active ingredient, Triclosan, common in hand soaps is not soluble in water and stays on your skin even after rinsing. Is this really true or just internet-hype. If so how dangerous is its use in our tanks even when we carefully rinse our hands to wash it off.

You should not be using a soap like that to begin with, as it has antibacterial and antifungal agents. If washing hands for reef tanks with soap, then old fashion pure Ivory soap, rinsed well in RO/DI water.
