My API alk test 11dKH and LaMotte is 8.96. Who is more accurate?

Those number are close enough that I wouldn't worry about the difference, but there's no way to know which kit is more accurate without investing some money.

What is the lot # on the bottle of the API? The last four digits is the born on date. If it is older than a year old, I'd get a new one. Old kh reagents tend to read a little higher when they get old. LaMotte has a lot # but I do not know how to decipher it. But I suspect if it is old too, it may not be reading right.
Either way, like Bertoni said, you are probably in the ballpark. :)

Thanks all. I took a sample to my local pool store since they test my pool water and their analysis was very close to the LaMotte test kit. Tehy also test for ph and calcium.
