Saturation is 2 Table spoons /gallon. You can get more by adding an acid, but that gets into other issues. There are some good articles posted in the Reef Chemistry Section

2 tsp should be safe to use on your tank imo every other day drip it at night and from a gallon of ro water I add 15 ml of white vinegar with no ill effect's it seems to break the P.L down a little further

make sure if you do use vinegar to use the right type

CLARIFICATION:
you mix it at a max of 2 tsp/gallon of pure water then slowly drip it into the tank-- do NOT add 2 tsp/gallon of aquarium volume directly to the tank.

The specific amount needed to maintain calcium and alkalinity depends on the rate at which they are depleted in your system.

Randy's Limewater article posted above is a very good primer.
