I've been out of the hobby for a few years. I'm getting back in.

I frequently used pipzine (piperarazine (sp)) for QT for wide range parasite control in conjunction with a microscope to treat for parasites.

What are people using (liquid, powder) at what dose per gallon, and where are they getting it, now that Aquatronics is not producing it?

I found some in liquid form online....but I'm wondering what the correct doseage per gallon would be...

Thanks,

Em

Praziquantel is what is more commonly used now. Many people buy Prazipro as it is more readily available than praziquantel powder and you can generally buy it in smaller quantities. Prazipro has directions on the bottle, I believe 1 tsp to 20 gallons for 7 days. The duration recommended with powder is generally the same, but the amount will vary based on the concentration of prazi in the powder.

I treat all new fish with prazi, two 7 day rounds with a 50% water change in between.
