View Full Version : need help please 5 gallon reef tank lighting 16"x8"x10"

i am starting a new 5 gallon reef tank.now only has 5 and a half lb live rock (tonga&fiji),5 lb live sand,aquaclear 10 gall power head, marineland 250 HOT magnum canister filter (micron water polishing 24/7), aquatech 10-15 gall H.O.T. filter (i know P.O.S. im cheap). well the tank has only been running for about 4 days now and everythings going great salt lvls and water quality is perfect; but my light fixture broke out of no where so i need to find a new light fixture i have looked everywhere but cannot find one to fit my tank. looking for one that mounts on the tank , can use actinic and day light bulbs, 20-25 watts,power compact or flourescents, and im not sure on bulbs either like where to buy or what kind will work with the light fixture. please help.....any suggestions would be great. the tank dimensions are 16"x8"x10"

current usa 2x18 nova extreme t5ho...18" so will have a little bit of over hang

very nice suggestions guys , but the coralife pc doesnt support the wattage i want,and catalina lighting (couldnt find anything), i do like current usa nova extreme but deff. would like one that is mountable (the nova extreme is mountable but wont work with size of my tank).theese are great suggestions and a little overhang is okay. probably gonna go with the current usa nova extreme if i dont find anything else. thanxxx a lott guys. anymore suggestions?

Well, it would be 2" too short, but aquatraders.com has a 14" PC light that you may be able to wrangle a mount for.

well i decieded to go with the coralife mini pc actually works great doesnt mount but w/e and lighting is just fine with the 18 watts thx for all your suggestionss thx yall

thatd b tight saw some cheap but good stuff on ebay that clips into the light fixtyre , but not one in my light now maybe soon after i get some ricordea and zooanthids started
