As the title states, I came home after work to find my Eheim battery powered auto-feeder sitting on the LR. It contained about 1.5 TBSP of Spectrum pellets

Coral status....

Xenia not happy (Dark stalks that use to be opaque white with partial polyp expansion(PE));
Green star polyps not happy (no PE).
Montiporia partially happy (reduced PE but certain spp ok)
Acro's more happy (slightly reduced PE to normal PE)
Birdsnest and stylo normal.
Dendro slighly unhappy.

Invert status....

Hermits and Cleaner Shrimp happy.
Happy Clams too!!!
LR-based sponges & tunicates happy thus far but argueably upset.

After removing the feeder, I performed a 25% water change and put in Act. Carbon (BRsupply lignite).

Test parameters this morning after WC/Carbon:

Ammonia,Nitrite,Nitrate,Phos = Zero.....(Admittedly API tests)

Questions.....

Could corals be unhappy because of electrical current as the batteries probably discharged in the display?

Should I perform additional water changes?

Should I be concerned about heavy metals (Copper) or can I consider them to be a non-issue because the inverts are happy thus far.

Any additional suggestions or should I just wait this out.

Thanks in advance.

I once killed a whole SPS tank by dropping the connector from a power supply into the sump. The electricty and saltwater dissolved the metal very quickly. Check to see if there is metal missing anyplace on the unit. If you put a poly filter in the sump it will pull out the bad stuff and turn colors if there is metal in the tank.

Good time for a big water change.

No missing parts noted....some corrosion noted at one end of AA Battery (Could have been there prior because the second AA is clean.

You're loss was because of long-term metal exposure?

I lost enough metal to crash the tank in hours. All the inverts didn't die, but the SPS went first.

Thanks again.

Anyone else have insight.

For a minute there I thought I was reading an X-Ray diagnosis report :p.
