Ballast draw decrease with bulb life?

Does anyone know if the draw on a magnetic metal halide ballasts ,drops as bulbs age?
I know the par, spectrum and lumens drop, does this effect how much power the ballast use?

No it rises, and significantly. There's a Sanjay Yoshi article. What you 'know' is true for electronic ballasts, but mags tend to raise the current draw to maintain intensity.

Had a MH fixture I wanted to run on a FOWLR, using the old bulbs.
Guess I'll look for a new t-5 fixture.

I noticed with the magnetic ballasts that there was an increase in Power draw as the bulbs aged. This is not the case with electronic ballasts.
