Eating my white star polyp.?

Tonight while my son and I were doing a little snooping on the tank with lights off there was this small shrimp looking thing on my star polyp and looked like he was eating it.

It was about 3/8th of an inch long and white I tried to suck it out with the turkey baster but it was too fast and darted under a rock.

Any ideas? I will try to catch it if I can or get a picture.

Does your star polyp actually appear damaged? Most likely it was an amphipod or copepod, which is quite common and usually harmless; they make good clean-up crew members.

I'm not sure if it was actually eating them or they were just retracted. my first impression was it was eating but I'm probably wrong.
