Hey everyone,

Does this seem ok? In a day these are my swings:

pH: 8.04-8.40
Alk: usually stable between 3.25-3.50 meql/L
Calc: always between 430-440

The reason why my pH is doing that swing....I add in 6mL of Seachem Reef Carbonate daily. (this is how much my tank consumes). But my alk is pretty stable at those readings.

I have just a ORA red planet (Browned out and a bit too white) and 1 red montipora.

Trying to get things more stable....Should i maybe use baking soda for the alk?

When I dose my Alk...my pH swings from 8.04-8.2...in about 1-4min...then the rest of day it rises with lights (on an 8hr light schedule)

From this article:

"In fact, the pH on a reef flat may vary from less than 8.0 to more than 8.6 within 24 hours with no significant deleterious effects on the animals."
