looking for a super easy to use phosban reactor. I dont have a sump or allot of room. Its a 30 gal tank with HOB skimmer.

2 criteria
1) Simple
2) kinda works (ok works well would be best)

Something I need to do as little plumbing as possible. works out of the box would be great.

Two little fish works great just need get some tubing, pump, ball valve good to go. It can hang on the back so no need for a sump. Its a little plumbing but not really anything different then if it came as a kit just have to buy all the pieces. Which honestly is kind of nice considering you get to pick what pump you want to run on it.

I agree with smitthy750 - go with Bulk Reef Supply. You can get a heck of a deal on a dual reactor and then you can run carbon in the other canister. Great price and a more heavy duty unit.

+ 2 for the two little fishes reactor. been using it with a maxijet 400. you can buy extra spacers like i did and run 2 different media.

I've used both the TLF and the BRS reactors. They both do a great job. BRS has a nice dual reactor, but you can always just chain two TLF reactors.

people seem to think the single is better than the double any thought son that. I might order the BRS one today I like the look of it and it seems cheap.

question is dbl or single.

Edit

I think I just decided to go with the single with both media types in it. any last minute thoughts on if this is a bad idea. ?

I personally don't like mixing media (( Carbon and Phosban )), for two reasons; the size difference in the the "grains" could very well break up the Phosban. Plus, for me at least, they are used up at different rates, so would make replacing just one pretty difficult if they were both in the same reactor.

you will get some applause for doing that from a few reefers, however i think its a bad idea, basically phosban and carbon can both be used in a reactor, however phosban definately lasts longer than carbon (only in a clean system) and so shutting down the reactor, every few days-2 weeks if you like, to replace the carbon just wastes the phos media, its best to use 2 reactors or just phos alone in a reactor and use carbon another way rather than combined, in my view

yeah I can def see that I would love to have 1 less pump in the tank though I have a 30 with no sump and already have a

seio 820
maxi jet 1200 for remora c
maxijet 1200 for more flow

doesn't sound like much but in a 30 its getting tight
