I am building a new tank 48l"x36wx18t and I found a 48" 2x250 mh and two 2x54w t-5 fixture and I would like to see what people think about this light. I know that this light is a old model but would this light work for my needs . I have starting to keep some sps and I do not know if this would be enough light. thanks. Kurt

I would think it would be fine with that shallow of a tank.

The only problem is going to be spread front to back with that 36" width.

On a tank that wide I would be much more inclined to use the LumenBright reflectors, they spread the light out very well and give a really nice punch as well. I've seen them in action on 400W bulbs over a 500g system, and I was quite impressed.

Yep, you won't like the spread over that width. Gonna be tough to do with any fixture unless you were to pair up on 36" model and hang two perpindicular to the tank.

Building your own with a Lumenbright or Lumenarc reflector would work out well.
