Do mantis colour up as they grow?

Hi,

I've been offered a 1 inch mantis shrimp from a guy and I havent seen it yet. I've been told it's brown, will it colour up as it grows or are some of them a dull colour?

Mine is pretty dull looking, but he more than makes up for his lack of color with personality. He's molted several times and the color is still the same.

I had a brown mantis when I got him, but his recent two molts ched a completely green skin. He's still healthy, and this has been this way for a long time. Roy told me he was a Neogonodactylus wennerae. I'll post some pics of the color change when I get my film developed and post them back on here.
