I am a total newbie at this. Got an Aqua Medic Turboflotor 5000 Shorty Compact from a friend.
Can I setup a pump with that so that I can go from my 50 gal tank into the skimmer and back into the tank without a sump, or is that foolish, just setup a sump?
Am working to setup 3 - 130gal tanks in the next couple months, can someone recommend a setup for my current (overstocked) tank with an eye to the future in this respect?
So:
Sump? If yes what size (considering future)?
Pump - What capacity (considering future)?
- How are pumps rated/how do you tell good from bad?
