SO, I just walked by my tank and noticed tiny white dots on the glass of my tank. Thinking it was something on the outside I tried to wipe it off. I looked closer and saw they look like worms. They are very very small and coiled up. When I look harder I see them on all sides of the glass and I have maybe 30 on the front. Taking a picture would be pointless they are sooo small.
Any idea? Should I be worried?:sad1:

I just cant really get a good answer, of if they are harmless or not. They kind of creep me out...

they could be snail eggs, which are a good sign your CUC is reproducing and are happy...

I wouldn't worry about it - run the mag float over the tank and they'll dissapear. How old is the 20L?

I have tons of those little suckers as well, but they normally get scraped off when I clean the class. Not sure if they are harmful but they don;t seem to be hurting anything so...

I have had many of those in the past and they seem to be harmless...just clean them off the glass with the mag float...

Got plenty of these too. Also see a lot of odd stuff with a red light after lights out.

+2 on the feather dusters. I have one on my back glass (tank is new too) that has grown quite a bit and I have seen the "feathers". Harmless.

Yeah, I now see them on the LR and the back and the Koralia...Well as long as it is harmless, but My zoanthid looks like crap....covered and white and looks like it is decaying, but that could be a whole nother issue. My zoa was looking bad before I noticed the white spots. Tank is aprox 6-7 weeks old

AS I was staring I noticed ONE thing moving that looks different then the others, it is clear / white and is slugging along the glass. It is also very very small.

I love to look at my tank with my magnifying glass. There are all sorts of critters in the salt tank, most of the harmless. What you have is typical of most every salt tank, so don't worry.

There are only a few parasites that are of concern, certain nudibranches, flatworms, aiptasia, and hydroids. You might want to google some of them to see what they look like, but everything you described so far is normal and harmless.

OK, I feel better...I called LFS too and they told me not to worry. I guess they kinda freak me out...My biggest concern was that I plan on moving everything from my 20L to my 75 after it cycles, and I didnt want to transfer something bad. Thanks everyone for your help.

I have TONS of these right now and also a crap load of white sponges. At first I was like "cool, my ecosystem is doing well." It's starting to get annoying though as even if I scrape the glass, by the next day those little buggers are all over the place. And now, the sponges have found there way all over the tank too. I don't think there is a single snail without at least one sponge on it. My slugs, which also appeared about the same time are doing great... one black one and one white one fairly large in size now. Is there a way to get this little white feather duster things to stay off the glass? Can you make some other location seem WAY more appealing to them?

Spirorbid worms. A PITA but otherwise harmless.
