I, and many others, use loctite. Won't hurt a thing. I have no experience with your application (I use it on rocks), so I don't know if it will WORK per se, but it won;t harm anything.

Is your skimmer acrylic? Have you considered weldon?

im going to be using it on the pinwheel...it came off the impeller.

Give it a shot. All I was trying to say is it may or may not be strong enough for what you want. I would guess that the pinwheel will simply break off again sooner or later, but it is worth a shot I suppose before going out and buying another.

I bet it will. Just as a long term... not so sure. Who knows, I could be wrong, I just know people usually buy a new pump or impeller of theirs breaks.

The type of plastic that is used to manufacture an impeller is not acrylic. Weldon may or may not work. Giving the stress that is there I doubt any glue will last long term.

hope it helps,
Marian

PS. Weldon was specially formulated for acrylic base materials. It provides a superficial melt down of the two surfaces followed by a "re-solidification".

All purpose cement for plastic plumbing may work better than most. I have used the Oatey brand of all pupose cement and had it last indefinitely. Super glue may work for a temporary fix.
