I just became aware of this online petition against allowing one of Steve Irwin's potential wildlife reserves to be sold off to aluminum mining industry. It has been going for a while, but it looks like they are still taking signatures. Anyone interested can sign here: http://savestevesplace.com/

I am aware that this isn't reefkeeping per se, but it does have to do much with the ecosystem and how we, as humans, can and do effect it.

I haven't really found anything. My understanding is that it is being decided whether the land will be sold or not. I am sure the site will have some sort of updated info. as things progress.

I signed today. Ironically, I dove the exact same reef Irwin did 2 weeks before his death. I love Australia and the respect most of them have for nature. I hope this petition helps

Let's just be happy it hasn't been deleted! I don't see why it would be. Did you have it in the wrong part of the forum or something?
