View Full Version : Strange new algae Help!

So in a matter of a day a light purple algae has begun to grow on my sand bed, and I'm not sure what it is. It's popped up in little batches in several places, and it looks like a film. HELP!

So it is not cyanobacteria?

It sounds exactly like cyanobacteria.

+1 bump for cyano from discription. Parameters would be good if your looking for help on this.

Sounds like CyanoBacteria to me......However without Pictures its hard to tell.

CyanoBacteria wont grow where there is a good water movement. You may need to add a PowerHead or two to keep a good water movement all over the tank.
