I guess the amount of work is in the eyes of the beholder.
In my opinion, yes, it is a lot of work.
I'm told that it is easier raising seahorses with benthic fry like H. Barbouri, but Reidi fry was all I had available to me to work with.

how big is the tank?

That holding tank is a 20g cube tank with a 20g garbage pail sump about 2/3 full of rock and water.
I have to do major water changes about every 5 days because the water quality degrades so fast with so many horses in there.
