AC Jr. Control Panel Problem

I searched through the threads hoping to find some guidance, but no luck. My problem is with a AC Jr. that has lost button functionality. First the up button began working intermittently, then stopped working altogether. Now the select button has gone the same way. This means I cannot access the programming anymore.

Is there anything I can do to try to fix this problem? Are there any connections under the controller face plate that I could potentially try to clean?

I really dont want to buy a new controller, but if that is the way I have to go, are there any other contollers like the Reefkeeper Lite that would let me continue to use the ph and temp probes and the DC8 that I currently have?
