I use ChemipireElite and Purigen. I like it but this stuff is expensive. I was wondering what you guys use. Please be specific, with the brand and type.

How big is your setup? How much do you use? How often do you change it?
I checked out BulkReefSupply. Cool site. Pretty cheap and in bulk. I also like the videos.

+1 BRS, I shop nowhere else for all filtration and dosing media.

Just put an order in for the ROX and HC GFO. BRS has the lowest price that I could find. No just have to figure out how much and how often.

I change mine out every month with the HC GFO and ROX. The HC GFO supposed to last longer than normal GFO which I used to change out 2 weeks.
Might want to ask BFS, they are very good and answering he phone and responding the email

The only filtration "media" I use is Marineland Black Diammond GAC in a cannister filter. :)

In between baffles in the sump. Until I get reactors.

I used to run active in a reactor, now I use it passively in a bag in the sump.

Notice any difference in water quality? Benefit to tank?

I use Chemi-pure elite and Purigen as well. I replace chemipure and purigen every three months and swap out purigen and regenerate.

They do a great job in my 12 gallon but I do not have the same results in the 120. Higher phosphates, diatams, and a tad of hair algae at the moment. And with the price of the big bags of Chemi-pure elite and several bags of purigen, It's costly. No plans on changing anything in the nano-reef.

Randy - May I ask what canister filter you use and for what size tank? Do you run the carbon continuously? Thanks

I use a Magnum (350) run continuously for what is now a 120 display with various assorted refugia, etc. :)
