I ran my update and everything looked like it was going fine...then my display went black on the Apex. It will not turn back on.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Thanks

The display will black for about 1 minute; if you try resetting of unplugging before it comes back by itself you might need to update again and be patient. If after 2 minutes it hasn't come back then unplug it and plug it back it and it should come back. You might need to power off the base.

Ken - I can't update because it will not recognize my IP address on the APEX. Is there any way to reset with the display unit to get it to the default IP? Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ryan

Found this post, seems very similar. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=15772406

An update shouldn't reset the IP. Unplug the unit and plug it back after 10-15 seconds then wait for a couple minutes for the Apex to scan.

I've tried that, no luck. I can not connect to the Apex web browser, iPhone, or update (it times out every time)

unplug the display, then unplug the EB8 and give it 15 seconds; plug in the EB8 and after the Apex light changes to solid plug in the display. Can you Telnet into the Apex?

I have tried both of those things and Curt is trying to walk me through what he thinks the problem is.

I really do feel that the IP was reassigned during this ordeal and without a display, I have no idea how to check it.

Very confused and frustrated,
Ryan

Try using a URL of http://apex.

Try using a URL of http://apex.

Did you update with the Apex connected via wireless? The Apex needs to be direct connected for update.

Yes, both my computer and Apex are connected to my router via ethernet per Curt's advice. I have tried everything that I can think of and everyone of your suggestions. Just not able to get this thing working.

So your working with Curt to get this resolved?

Curt and I tried for about half an hour to get this fixed, no dice. What excellent service! Curt walked me through everything and finally said that they would fix it at the shop as we weren't getting anywhere.

Bummer that I have to live without a controller for a week or two, but glad that Curt and Neptune stands behind their product.
