Hello Everyone,

I am new to these forums. I have been keeping fish tanks for some time, but mostly fish only tanks. I am thinking of getting into some corals as well as perhaps an anemone.

Does anyone have an opinion/experience on the Red Sea Max aquariums?

They seem pricey, but the "complete setup" concept is tempting.

Thanks in advance for your info!

As with any All in One there are drawbacks to having a complete system in a confined space. You have to decide if you are good with the restrictions for the complete in one system concept. I think most people would prefer to build a system by components but at the same time some people like the "one tank" concept.

If you got the cash, ide spend a little more and get a Elos there soooo nice. What size tank are you planning on getting?

My goals was around 50 gallons. Does Elos offer something in that size?

I had a Red Sea Max, great started tank. Paid $650 shipped for mine with a stand. They've done a number of revisions and made them nicer. Great starter tank, but after a year I went up to a 120g.

next month will be one yr. with the 130d, I know it's not the cheapest but just like most things you get what you pay for its awsome no worries

Love my RSM 130 except for the skimmer which was replaced with a Tunze 9002 along with a media rack from inTank...I've had mine for almost 2 years..

i examined a 250 when they first came out, i got stuck into it and had a look at it thouroughly, overall i personal felt they were great tanks, didnt think the skimmer on the 250 was bad at all, in fact it seemed pretty cool, overall it was expensive here, around a thousand uk pounds, but still very nice.

not for me, but nothing wrong with it imo.

Thanks so much for all the info and feedback. The Elos is tempting, but pricey. Glad to hear the RSM has worked out for some.

i dont like the all in one setups...eventhough they are way cheaper than if you put one togetehr yourself...they just cant be customized taht well
