Im just going by the dates on the photo tags that were in the photobucket link. It said 90909pics. It's is by far my fastest grower and if you compare the little growth on the pearlberry aboveit and the ponape rosaria next to it you will see how little they grew in that time span.
Calcium stays between 430-450
alk at 12
mag at 1450-1500

I mean it's a lot of new branches, but it's not a ton of mass. So, I'd definitely say it's believable. It's outstanding growth! :) I've had corals that do just that; they seem to chill for quite some time, and then they simply decide to explode with growth. Nicely done!

That is amazing! It must be in a good random flow area.

Thanks for the comments. I was going through my pics and saw that I had a decent progression set for this one. After it encrusted it just kinda shot up little nubs all over. I wouldn't consider any of them branches yet, but eventually they will be. And yes it is in a high glow area about 8-10 inches in front of a vortech, with a modded k4 on the side glass below it that creates upward flow off the rock next to the RP

I've had mine for about 5 months now. Encrusted beyond the plug, but not much vertical. I hope I get one of those explosions. I love the color of this thing with the green base and purple-red polyps.

I don't know if it's just me or what, but I don't think you're looking at the right coral, according to your pics. In the first pic, you see a single small frag. Second pic, a little bigger, but not much. Then the Sept. 9 pic, bottom middle of the pic, a little more growth. Now here is where I get confused. The Oct. 7 pic shows what looks to be a different coral. Then the last pic shows that coral, but with that kind of growth in a few weeks? Sorry for my confusion.

i believe him. it was fully encrusted for about 3+ months and finally shot out more branches. I have seen frags take over a year to encrust a full plug and shoot 10s of branches in a few weeks.

I think the difference in the pics are throwing it off. In teh Sept pic you can see what are going to be the nubs in Oct. The closeup and difference in angle makes them look way bigger than the previous pic but I dont think the guy has anything jacked up with his dates or pics.

growth looks good!! Keep doing what you are doing!

The only part I dont understand is when my Red Planet grows the tips are really white for a while, yours is not even light?

I wish my red planet would hit a growth spurt like that! It has been encrusting for 4 months now and has encrusted a good 2.5" around the original 3/4" frag. I hope it will shoot up like that any day now. Great growth btw.

maybe try "nipping" some off the tip to force more branches.

the tips are a little bit lighter than the rest, my camera just sucks and i cant get a great picture that shows the true colors. in person it still has some of the green it starts out as on the sides of the nubs

basser, it looks different on the oct7th pic because it finally shifted color to the pinkish red from the green. also i moved some corals around it, added a few others. im always moving stuff around in the tank.lol

With mine after it encrusted the base it did take a while then all of a sudden it shot three spikes in like no time. All were really white in color and a couple of months later they seem to be getting pinker in color.
